From the Treasure Coast to El Salvador: Celebrating Head Judge Ryan Flores

by | Sep 17, 2026 | ISA World Championship

Our surf community has something to celebrate.

Treasure Coast Board Riders Club is proud to recognize our Club Head Judge, Ryan Flores, and her participation in the 2026 ISA Women’s Judging Program in Surf City, El Salvador. Ryan was selected for the program held alongside the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship, September 4–13, 2026. (ISA Letter)

The ISA received 51 applications from women across 32 countries, with eight women participating in this year’s international training group. Having our Head Judge be part of that opportunity is something worth celebrating.

Learning in a World Championship environment

The International Surfing Association’s Women’s Judging Program combines expert mentorship, practical scoring exercises, replay analysis, and shadow judging in a live World Championship setting. Participants can compare their practice scores with the official panel and deepen their understanding of judging at the international level.

The program also serves a bigger purpose: creating more opportunities for women in surf judging and developing potential candidates for future ISA World Championship panels and, eventually, Olympic judging roles.

Why this matters to our club

As a Level 3 judge working toward Level 4, Ryan is continuing to invest in her knowledge, experience, and development.

For TCBR, that commitment matters. We want our surfers—from groms entering their first contest to experienced competitors—to have opportunities to learn, understand how their surfing is evaluated, and grow their confidence in competition. We’re excited about the perspective this experience can bring to our local events and surf community.

Ryan’s participation is also a reminder to the girls and women in our club that there are meaningful ways to help shape surfing beyond competing. Judging is one of those paths, and seeing someone from our own community pursue it makes that opportunity feel closer to home.

Congratulations, Ryan!

Ryan, thank you for continuing to challenge yourself, grow your skills, and be part of what we are building at Treasure Coast Board Riders Club.

We’re proud to have you as our Head Judge, proud to celebrate this milestone, and excited to see where your judging journey takes you next.

Your TCBR family is cheering you on!  🤙🌊
